Surprise of the Day!
I walked out of the back door and there they were behind our house on the vacant lot. The young ones still have their spots.

HAPPY FOURTH
Happy Fourth of July
These are only 2 of the reasons that I'm thankful to live in America. I'm also thankful for the men and women who have fought down through the years to keep our country free. Thanks go to their families for the sacrifices they've made. Above all, I'm thankful to our Lord Jesus Christ for the sacrifice he made on our behalf in the shedding of His Blood for us, and the home he has promised us in Heaven.

PRAY FOR OUR BELOVED AMERICA!
God bless America,Land that I love,
Stand beside her and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above; From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans white with foam,
God bless America,
My home, sweet home.
(God Bless America, lyrics by Irving Berlin)
Be Ever so Thankful for your Freedom, and never Take it for Granted.

Happy Mothers Day Sunday
Mother's Day is all about love and sharing and appreciation...
and today,
warmest thoughts are about you
a woman who shares so much
of herself with others
and whose life shows so clearly
the wonderful meaning
of love
Happy Mother's Day
She has been in Heaven since December 12, 1990, and in her honor I'm going to share her recipe with
you. She topped the cake with a chocolate fudge boiled icing.
My Moms 5 Flavor Pound Cake
2 sticks butter
1/2 cup veg. shortening
3 cups sugar
5 eggs well beaten
3 cups All-purpose flour (don't sub.)
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon of the following flavorings:
coconut
rum
butter
lemon
vanilla
Cream butter & shortening & sugar until light & fluffy. Add eggs
which have been beaten until lemon colored. Combine flour & baking
powder. Add cream mixture alternating with milk. Stir in flavoring.
Pour mixture into greased tube-pan. Bake at 325 degrees for
1 1/2 hours or until done.
Icing is optional
