Labor Day
Today being Labor Day, I didn't want to work too hard, because when I was young my dad always said; whatever you do on Labor Day you'll be doing the rest of the year. I grew up with a lot of "old wives tales", and on this day I always think of my Dad and Aunt Maggie. They always went fishing, cause that's what they wanted to be doing the rest of the year. I did do some work though, thinking I just trust with God's help I'm able to work the rest of the year.
Ecclesiastes 2:10b
"My heart took delight in all my work and this was the reward for all my labor."

Our neighbors
We just never know what might appear in our neighborhood. The lastest is five chickens, and two turkeys. I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw these, and what's amazing is that they don't fly away. It's getting close to Thanksgiving, so I wonder if they will run or fly away, if not they might just wind up being Thanksgiving turkeys. :(
We have a new addition to our backyard. We had beeen throwing our veggie scraps out back on the vacant lot, with the owners permission. She did as well as we, put them in a little round area there. When the racoons began to grow as large as baby bear cubs, she thought we had bettered stop feeding them. On this lot we have deer that visit us too. We decided to purchase a compost bin It's right on our property line out back.
